Doubt Is an Enemy of Faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
(Heb. 11:1)

Now what did I say to that woman to get her to act on the Word? You see, initially she was crying out, “Oh, please, Jesus! Please heal me! Oh, Jesus, let me walk! I’m so helpless, and I can’t do anything for myself. I’ve been sitting around these four years. Please heal me!” The longer she went on, the further she got into unbelief and doubt.

So I said to her, “Wait a minute, sister. I can help you.” You see, she was on the wrong road. The road she was on didn’t lead to healing. Faith doesn’t cry; faith shouts!

She was not on the road of faith; she was on the road of unbelief and doubt. Faith doesn’t beg God to do something; faith declares it’s done. I had to get her turned around and headed in the right direction.

I said to her, “Did you know that you’re healed?”

She said, “Oh, am I?”

“Yes,” I said, “you are.” I could tell by the expression on her face that she thought, If I’m healed, how come I’m still sitting here and haven’t walked.

Confession I side in with the Word, not with my body. I don’t side in with my neighbor or my friends. I side in with God, and He said I’m already healed!
