And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. (Mark 5:29)
Healings may also be initiated by man. In Mark chapter 5, we have the account of the woman with the issue of blood, who initiated her own healing.
Notice verse 27: “When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.” This woman started the ball rolling by doing something.
She said, “…If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole” (v. 28).
Jesus responded to her and said, “…Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague” (v. 34).
You, too, can initiate your own healing by acting on God’s Word. You don’t have to sit around like those at the pool of Bethesda and wait for God to initiate something. No, you can receive healing from God at any time by acting on His Word.
Confession I can reach out in faith and receive healing for myself, just like the woman with the issue of blood did.
