“In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled, and vexed HIS HOLY SPIRIT…” (Isaiah 63: 9, 10a).
The Holy Spirit has a beautiful identity. He is called “The Angel of God’s presence.” He is the One Who brings us the presence of God and makes it real to us. Observe the opening scripture closely, and you’d discover that “His Holy Spirit” mentioned in verse 10 is called in verse 9 “The Angel of His presence.”
The word ‘angel’ is translated from the word that also means ‘messenger.’ Meaning that the Holy Spirit is the Messenger or the Conveyor of God’s presence! He is the One Who carries the presence of God from place to place all over the world, and that presence is with you now. That’s the reason you can know that Jesus is real; that’s the reason you can believe in the Word of God.
When you pray, it’s the Holy Spirit that makes God’s presence real to your spirit, and then you seem to ‘feel close’ to a living God. He causes you to be spiritually overwhelmed by divine glory. God is omnipresent, meaning He’s everywhere; but His manifested presence is not everywhere. The Holy Spirit is the One Who manifests God’s presence. He brings to you an awareness of the power of God, and makes God’s presence real to you in a way that stirs faith in your heart.
God’s presence in the life of the believer is very important. David understood the importance of that presence in his life and cried out to God: “Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me” (Psalm 51:11 NKJV). This Scripture shows there’s a connection between the presence of God and the Holy Spirit. However, no Christian need pray this prayer now, because the Holy Spirit has come to dwell in every believer FOREVER (John 14:16). Praise God!
Have an assurance of God’s presence with you in everything you do, for in Him you live, and move, and have your being (Acts 17: 28a).
Confession
Dear Father, I rejoice because I know I’m never alone, and will never walk in darkness or in confusion for you’re with me forever until the end of the age. Your Spirit lives in me and brings me an awareness of your power, and makes your presence real to me in a way that stirs faith in my heart today. Amen.

Psalm 139:7-10 “whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.” John 14:16-17:
