“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:20).
If you’re born again, you don’t own yourself: “… ye are not your own” (1 Corinthians 6:19). God paid a high price for you, the blood of His Son Jesus. Therefore, as the Bible says, you should glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are His. This means you ought to serve Him diligently, and submit yourself to His Lordship.
Understand that God knows how to take care of His own. Since you belong to Him, it’s His responsibility to protect, keep, bless, help, promote and provide for you. This understanding inspired David’s words in Psalms 23:1-3, where he declared “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1-3). David understood that as a child of God, you shouldn’t lack anything good because God is your bread-provider.
If you wouldn’t as much as allow your pet at home go hungry, don’t you think God wants to do even more for you whom He loves? Meditate on the fact that you’re God’s property today, and you’ll no longer despair or be frustrated in your life.
Confession
Heavenly Father, you’re my life and in you I live, move and have my being. I rejoice that I belong to a caring and loving Father as you, and I declare that Christ is glorified in me—spirit, soul and body, as I commit myself to only doing things that bring you honour and glory.
