Divine Health—Now!

“…When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” ( Matthew 8:14-17).

Back in the Old Testament, the nation of Israel had their sins atoned for once every year by the high priest who slaughtered an animal and offered its blood as sacrifice before the altar of God. The high point of this atonement was when the high priest took a goat called “the scapegoat,” laid his hands on it, confessed all the sins of the people on it, then hands it over to a fit-man to lead to the wilderness to perish. This was repeated every year until Christ paid the ultimate price.

The good news is that Christ didn’t just pay the ultimate price for us to be saved but also paid the full price for us to be free from all kinds of sicknesses, diseases and infirmities. The opening scripture clearly shows that Christ bore our sicknesses, which means He carried away our sicknesses.

The Greek word used for bare is “bataso,” meaning “to bear or take away something, to remove, or to take the burden of another upon oneself.” The original rendering of this scripture connotes a Levitical contemplation of Christ’s sacrifice for us which eradicates completely the yearly rituals of atonement by the blood of a goat.

As a child of God, you should never allow sickness, disease or infirmity attach itself to your body or that of your children, because Christ satisfied all that was required for you to live in health and be healthy. Divine health is yours now by right as a new creation in Christ Jesus. If you had been sick because of your ignorance of what Jesus accomplished for you, let this truth sink into your spirit and permeate your entire being.

Remember that Christ bore “our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed(1 Peter 2:24). Did you notice that the words “were healed” in this scripture are in the past tense? That means it’s been accomplished, settled and laid to rest. Christ has already healed you. Let this truth therefore challenge you to a life of divine health, vigour and strength.

Refuse to suffer in ignorance anymore. Never allow the devil intimidate you with his tricks, which may come as symptoms. Insist on a healthy life, free from sickness or infirmity because this is the will of God concerning you.

Confession

Dear Father I thank you for your Word to me today, and the divine life and health you’ve given me. I walk and live in this divine health now. No sickness can attach itself to my body because the life of Christ in me produces total health and soundness in me. Hallelujah.
