There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men: A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease (Ecclesiastes 6:1-2).
Imagine a man who has a large corporation. He has employed thousands of workers and has a large estate. He’s got a lot of money in the bank, and much more comes in on a daily basis. Yet he’s unable to enjoy all his riches because his health is failing. But others make a lot of money off his investments because he doesn’t have the health to enjoy them. The Bible says, “…this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.”
God’s plan for you is not to be rich and sick; He wants you to have all-round prosperity— total soundness, prosperity with peace. That’s what He gave Solomon when he became king. Solomon had been smart enough to ask God for wisdom like his father. David taught him, and God gave him everything. The Bible says, “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding…Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace” (Proverbs 3:13, 16-17).
Wisdom is that essential quality that gives you all-round success and all-round prosperity. If you’re born again, happy are you, for Christ, the embodiment of wisdom now lives in you. Unlike the ordinary people of the world who struggle through life, you have at your disposal the wisdom of God that guarantees your prosperity with peace.
Confession
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me a life of total prosperity and all-round success. I do not labour or struggle for anything in life, because I’ve entered into your rest! Your peace mounts garrison in my heart and mind today, and I declare that I’m prospering not only in my finances but in my health and every other areas of my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
