He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)
The works of the devil include sin and sickness. Jesus was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38).
Sickness does not come from God. Sickness does not come from Heaven. There isn’t any sickness up there. No, sickness comes from the devil.
I remember a Baptist minister saying to me once, “You know, Brother Hagin, I just read the New Testament through for the second time. I’m saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. God is blessing me. I believe in healing and I know God heals. I pray for the sick. But I can’t see healing in the Bible like you do. I just read it through twice and I can’t see it.”
I said to him, “Well, you know, it doesn’t have to say h-e-a-l-i-n-g.
I see physical healing in almost every page of the Bible. For instance, in what we call the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus said, ‘After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven’ (Matt. 6:9-10).
“I see healing right there because there isn’t any sickness in Heaven. And Jesus said for us to pray that His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. If you’re sick, you’d have to get healed for His will to be done.”
This Baptist minister decided to read the New Testament for the third time. Afterward, he told me that he began to see healing in every chapter. Praise God! It’s in there!
Confession: Sickness doesn’t come from Heaven. There isn’t any sickness up there. Healing comes from Heaven. And healing belongs to me!
