Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12).
I heard of a young man who bought a brand new car, took it home and dented parts of it with a heavy metal so it won’t appear new to people. He didn’t want the neighbourhood to know he was rich enough to acquire a new car because he lived in fear of certain elements in the society. He thought some people would come after him for being successful. What a terrible way to live!
Life is too much of a beauty to be lived in fear for a single moment. The reason Christ came wasn’t just to give us life, He also came to break the hold of the wicked one over you. You see, before Jesus died, He declared with boldness before His disciples that He had overcome the world. Jesus never had a problem with the devil; He didn’t need to gain the victory over the devil for Himself. He did all He did for us.
If you’re born again, you’ve received eternal life and victory over the devil. You’re not supposed to live in fear of the devil and his cohorts. This is the reason God recommends we live by faith in His Word. The Apostle Paul, in the opening scripture we read, admonished Timothy to fight the good fight of faith. One way to do this is by holding tenaciously to the victory which Christ obtained for you, with the preparedness to defend it against the wickedness and wiles of the devil.
Don’t give it up for anything in the world; don’t let satan rub you of your joy, victory, success, prosperity or potentialities. Make up your mind to be all that God chose you to be and let nothing stop you. Refuse to be bound by thoughts of fear and boldly reject anything that negates God’s Word concerning you.
God’s Word gives you confidence, boldness and assurance of victory, success, peace, joy and health. All these and more belongs to you in Christ. Don’t compromise them. The good life is yours; prosperity is yours; and most importantly, eternal life is yours. Lay hold on them and live a glorious life always.
Confession
The Word of God is alive in me. My life is an unending flow of success, favour and grace. I walk in boldness and refuse to give up the success, favour, prosperity and divine health which is available to me in Christ. I declare that fear is disabled from my life and the works of the devil are paralysed in and around my sphere of contact, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
