“Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go” (Isaiah 48:17).
Investing in God’s Word is the greatest investment you could ever make. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you;” the Word of God can only dwell in you richly when you invest quality time in hearing and studying the scriptures. In other words, you ought to give yourself wholly to the Word, and the beautiful advantage this has for you is that your prosperity becomes not only inevitable but apparent: “give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (1Timothy 4:15-16).
No wonder the Psalmist said, “I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil” (Psalm 119:162). You need to give yourself wholly to God’s Word so you’ll be grounded in the faith. That way, when you face situations that require immediate response, you’ll have sufficient information to enable you respond in line with the Word. This is one reason you must invest your time and resources in God’s Word, for it contains all the life-giving information you need.
Make the quality choice to go for God’s Word; let your choices and decisions be based on the truth of God’s Word. Never rely solely on your human understanding to make your decisions in life, for only through the light of the Word can you discern right from wrong. The Bible shows us that the Word of God is the wisdom of God. Therefore, you can know what’s right through the Word of God and by His Spirit.
Some say, “Experience is the best teacher.” But that’s not true! You don’t have to suffer the consequences of your actions before learning from them. If you’re not sure about it, look in the Word, or else, leave it alone. Don’t try it out first to see if it’s good for you or not. Let the light of God’s Word guide you. I urge you to take time everyday to learn the Word; if you don’t have a good study or reference Bible, buy one! Invest money in good Christian books, tapes and resource materials that’ll help you grow spiritually.
Prayer
Dear Father, your Word is my life, and the light by which I see; I thank you for the prevailing power of your Word in my life and over every circumstance that I face! As I give myself wholly to studying and meditating on your holy Word, my prosperity is assured, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
