And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world (John 12:47).
In the scripture above, the Lord Jesus summarized His mission on earth. Shortly before He ascended, He commissioned the Church to take His gospel to all men and bring them to eternal life. This is the standing order to the Church—each one of us has been called to save the souls of men.
Life is spiritual and the only way to get the best out of life is to live for God, serving Him gladly, wholeheartedly and selflessly. Get busy for the Lord; be passionate about His work. Make soul winning your lifestyle. You’re a missionary here on earth, an ambassador for Christ, commissioned to take the message of salvation to everyone in your world; therefore, you must get yourself occupied with evangelism and soul winning.
Help someone else receive Salvation; help those around you learn the Word; show them the path of life! Teach them how to live. This is your calling as a child of God. The Bible didn’t say God has given to the pastors and evangelists the ministry of reconciliation, rather it says He has given to us—everyone of us—the ministry of reconciliation. We’re all called to save the lost. And as you do this, you’re promoted in the spirit, and the Spirit of God will lead you in glory.
Take evangelism and soul winning seriously. Make it a conscious lifestyle. Let nothing or anyone dissipate your zeal and passion for the Lord and His work. Jesus has given us a job; He’s given us something to do; each one of us has a responsibility to win others to Christ. This is our calling. Like the Lord Jesus, we’re here to save the lost of the world and bring them into the liberty of the gospel.
Confession
I’m not ashamed to declare the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone in my world, for it is the power of God unto salvation! Therefore today, I take my place as a minister of reconciliation and bearer of divine truths to impact my world with the Word of God! I thank you heavenly Father for counting me faithful and putting me into the ministry. Help me to touch even more lives with the gospel, so that a greater work-force will be raised for your Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
