So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.(Rom. 10:17)
Two years later, I went back to that same church in Oklahoma and noticed that the young woman who had refused to believe anything was there. Again, the meeting ran four weeks. I noticed her sitting there with her Bible and a notebook; she was taking notes as I taught in both the day and night services.
For two solid weeks, this young woman sat there, listened, and took notes. On Friday night of the second week, she positioned herself on the front pew.
One of the ushers put his hands under her arms, lifted her to her feet, and helped her up onto her crutches.
She was the first person in the healing line that night.
She said, “I’ve come for my healing. Just put your hands on me and I’ll be healed.” She lifted her hands and began to praise God. One crutch fell one way, and one fell the other way. And she walked off completely well!
You see, she listened to the Word of God and got the Word in her. Faith comes by hearing the Word.
Confession: God’s Word always works! If the Word of God worked for that woman in Oklahoma, the Word of God will work for me!
