The subject of permissibility which many have relied upon is based on the idea of “God allowed It” which deep down in the heart of their words they mean to say that “God did it”. The meaning of “He allowed” reflects directly that He had the power to stop it or prevent it. Thinking in their hearts that it was His will but they don’t say it directly lest someone answers them back: “God does not tempt anyone with evil.”
I will explain the subject of permissibility in the following example:
Imagine that one of your friends came to visit you and you welcomed him into your house. Suddenly an enemy of your guest knocks on your door, you open to him and find out he is an enemy of your friend, who came demanding you to get your friend out of the house so he could kill him.
What will you do? Your guest is under your protection now, you will surely protect your guest and with all your strength will not allow the enemy to touch him, but while doing so the guest goes out and gives himself up to that enemy by stepping outside your home.
Now that was your guest’s will, right? He stepped out of your own protection, when you did what you could to prevent the enemy from reaching him, but your guest went out to the enemy by himself.
What will you do now? You will not do anything, as you are not allowed to interfere in the will of your guest, that was his choice.
However you say to him: “Come into my house, and I will protect you.”; but he does not listen and do.
Thus is God, He does not remove His protection from above you and leave you naked to Satan, but you are the one who walks out of His protection.
God permits because you permitted.
Matthew 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”
Look at the sequence of the verse: what you release (the original Greek: what you permit) on earth will be permitted in heaven, and what you bind (the original Greek: what you reject) on earth will be rejected in heaven. Therefore the decision is in your hands and not in the hands of God.
Of course you will not befriend disease directly. But you may come out of God’s protection because of your ignorance of what you possess in Christ. Or you might have the wrong knowledge, thinking that God does not want you to be healed and have longevity.
Many argue saying: “God could have stopped it (ex. sickness)” . . . “God is capable of everything Why didn’t He do something even though I do not know what I have in Christ? . . .”
I always answer their questions as follows:
In the same example that I mentioned above, if I was your guest and I walked out from your house with my own will to face this enemy and he hurt me, does it mean that you allowed the enemy to enter and reach me? Or have you allowed me to leave because I wanted so?
Because you respect me; you will not prevent me from going out. The decision to get out of your protection was mine and not yours.
So if I had stayed inside your home I would have been safe and the enemy would have not been able to get to me because you will protect me and will not fall short of your role.
Then this means that God permits after we have permitted first and not the opposite. therefore the matter is dependent on us.
Let us take a look at the clearest verses that are good news for you, because the matter is placed in your hands and not God’s.
When the Lord gave His commandments to Moses to give them to the people of Israel, Moses then stood up and read the commandments to the people. Then on that same day he said something important, which I want to clarify.
Deuteronomy 30:11-15 “For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 14 But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart that you may do it. 15 “Behold, I have set before you today life and good [goodness, prosperity], death and evil.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20 loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
HOW AWESOME IT IS? HERE HE SAYS THAT THE MATTER IS IN YOUR HANDS AND NOT IN THE HANDS OF GOD!
He says, “Behold, I have set before you today life (to live by the Word and see results in your life) and have set before death (that is, if you did not live the Word, you will make a way for the Devil to enter into your life).
Here is the question: If the choice had always been in the hands of God, then initially He would not have said to us: “choose yourself”.
He did not only leave with us the opportunity to choose, but He has also guided us into choosing life. As it is His desire for us , but the choice is in our hands we humans.
Do not throw the responsibility on God; it is in your own hands, and the Bible says that His commandments are not difficult but they are easy.
By looking at James 1: 13-17 you will find that “man” is the one who allows for the temptations:
James 1:13-17 “13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
Did you know that you do not pray correctly when you pray and say, “Lord, do not allow such and such . . .” For if you were sensitive to the Holy Spirit and have a sound knowledge of God, the Holy Spirit would have said to you: “You are the one who permits, not me . . . it is in your hands . . . You are the one walking by the leading of your five senses; and so you fall and become tempted by Satan. Because every good gift is from God but the evil gifts are not from me . . . so stand in the face of Satan and rebuke him because you have the authority to do so.”
Instead of that erroneous prayer, pray correctly by saying: “Lord, I know that you do not want this disease or calamity because you want me to hide in you to protect me. Here I Come Lord and hide in your shadow, which cannot be penetrated. I reject the Devil out of my life in this matter . . . I do disagree that Satan take anything from me because you have delivered me from the power of Satan, and he owns nothing in me. Instead I have been given the authority over him and I am more than a conqueror. Hallelujah”
Begin to proclaim the word of God with your mouth: “By the stripes of Jesus I am healed, I do not permit the existence of this disease . . . I do not permit financial lack in my life . . . I am perfect and healed . . . I am rich in the name of Jesus because Jesus became poor, so that I through his poverty might become rich. Hallelujah. Satan, I stand against you; take your hand off my body, off my money, and off my family.
This is the way God teaches, which through it you hide under His shelter. Read Psalm 91 and you will learn that to dwell under the shelter of the Most High, is to say with your mouth: “You O Lord are my refuge, my fortress, my God in him will I trust and rely on.” Psalm 91: 1-3
If God does not want something; why then should we pray?
In fact, God awaits you to pray because He will do what you want. The spirit world and the Kingdom of God work through words, therefore you live the protection that you have with your tongue. Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”
CONCLUSION:
Do not allow Satan into your life for the matter is in your hands. Do not wait and do not pray for God to “not permit”, instead; YOU DON’T ALLOW. Trust that God is protecting you, He does not mess with your protection and does not fall short of His role. You just do your part; for He is not a man or a child who gives out something and then takes it back. He is a very wonderful God, and you will find yourself thanking Him for being wonderful after you have discovered that He never throws you away but always wanting to protect you.
The fact of Him telling you in James chapter 1 the reason why you get tempted, means that He wants you to avoid the temptation.
When the Bible says “give no place to the devil” it means it is possible and you can rest assured that you are protected from disasters and accidents.
Jesus denied that he came to steal and kill and destroy, but that “. . . He has come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10.
Many have hindered their healing because they did not know that the matter of healing is in their hands; instead they wait for God while it is God who is awaiting them, so they spend their lives waiting for God like a sinner who is waiting for God to forgive him; while God is waiting for the sinner to repent and invite Him into his life.
God is not an unknown God, but He is clear and you can know who He is, because He left His Word and His Holy Spirit for you here on Earth so you may know Him rightly. Therefore do not guess anything about Him but rather go to the Word to know Him with the help of the Holy Spirit.
