Miracles Are From God

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38).

A miracle is a supernatural act of God in human affairs that defies conventional or natural sequence. Often, we hear some folks say miracles are not real or that Satan also performs miracles, but I’ve studied the Bible and can’t find anywhere Satan healed people, cast out demons, or raised the dead. Our opening scripture declares that Christ went about doing good and healing all that we oppressed of the devil. That means it was satan who made them sick, but Jesus brought them healing.

I often feel sorry for folks who disparage the works of the Spirit and attribute healing miracles to the devil. They set themselves against the Lord without realizing it. The devil doesn’t heal; as a matter of fact, he can’t! The question we should ask those who are saying this is: “If Satan is the one healing the sick, or if his power is being used to heal the sick, then who made them sick?”

Some wrongly assert that God made them sick so He can humble them. But the same people rush to the doctor to get rid of what God supposedly gave to them. Isn’t that a bundle of contradiction? God is a healer and miracles are real and they come from God! When Jesus was accused of performing miracles by the power of Beelzebub, He warned them to be careful about what they say concerning the works of the Holy Spirit, because anybody who sins against the Father and the Son shall be forgiven but whosoever sins against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven (Matthew 12:31).

This is why you have to be careful today about what you say concerning healing ministers and miracles performed in the Name of Jesus. Don’t ascribe the works of the Holy Spirit to the devil. Hebrews 13:8 says: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” That means He’s able to do today the same miracles He did when He walked the streets of Israel. His power is unlimited and miracles are the hallmark that He’s still alive today.

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the miracle-life you have given me through your Son, Jesus Christ. I pray that the miracle-working power of Christ will be in greater manifestation in the Body of Christ, and that we all as Christians, through the power of your Spirit and revelation of your Word, will walk in the supernatural and experience your miracles on a daily basis, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Study: Hebrews 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? Acts 19:11-12 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: [12] So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
