Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1Timothy 6:12).
The fight of faith is the only fight the believer has been called to fight. Interestingly, ever before the fight, you were already declared the winner; that’s why it’s called “the good fight of faith!” So what’s a good fight? You can’t lose a fight and say, “That was a good fight!” A good fight is one that you win. So, we’ve been called to fight a good fight where our faith always prevails.
Some people say the battle is the Lord’s and expect God to help them fight their fight of faith. But, that’s not what the Bible teaches. It’s up to you, not God, to fight the good fight of faith. It’s your fight! Understand that this fight is not with demons. The fight of faith is when you unleash your faith against stubborn and rebellious circumstances that contest the integrity and infallibility of God’s Word
The way to fight this fight as depicted by our opening scripture is by laying hold on eternal life—your inheritance in Christ: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12). Notice it didn’t say “lay hold on the car you desire” or “lay hold on that house you’ve been dreaming about.” No! It says to lay hold on eternal life. How do you take a hold of eternal life, since it can’t be seen with the optical eyes? The answer is in the concluding part of the verse “…whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession.”
The way therefore to lay hold of eternal life is through your faith-confessions—by speaking the same thing in consent with God. You re-echo what God has said about your finances, health and other areas of your life! That’s how to fight the good fight of faith. Remember, you can never be disadvantaged or defeated in this life because you’re more than a conqueror, and the greater One lives in you! Make this your confession today.

I’m a winner. I live victoriously because the Holy Spirit is in me. I live in joy, health, peace and prosperity for these are part of my inheritance in Christ Jesus. The good Word of God is fulfilled in my life today, I know who I am; the world belongs to me and I’m walking in increased grace and wisdom in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
