You Can Still Change It!

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

There’re accounts in the Scriptures of men who changed the mind of God from what He had determined to do. One of such accounts is in Exodus 32:7-14 where we read of how God wanted to destroy the children of Israel for their rebellion and stubbornness, and raise a new generation from Moses. But Moses prevailed on Him and prevented Him from doing as He had purposed.

We see another instance in 2 Kings 20 where a man—King Hezekiah, changed the course of an event that had been divinely ordered of God. He had been sick to the point of death, and one day, the prophet Isaiah walked into his room and declared, “…Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live” (2 Kings 20:1). This was undoubtedly the Word and mind of God concerning Hezekiah’s situation, and there seemed to be no way out. But in the next verse, we read that he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord…” (2 Kings 20:2). He pleaded his case with God and God said, “…I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee …” (2 Kings 20:5).

That’s changing a hopeless situation! Through prayers, you can effect changes in the circumstances of your life. God has shown us in His Word that we can change anything, including things that were divinely destined to be. God may have said you’re going to have something one way, but if you don’t want it that way, you can change it. It’s amazing, but it’s true!

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for your Word and its ability to recreate my world. I thank you for enlightening my heart with the revelations of your Word and granting me insight into the realities of your Kingdom. By the power of your Spirit, I’m effecting changes in every situation and circumstance that’s not consistent with your rhema-word to me. Thank you for granting me the ability to effect changes through the Spirit, by your Word and prayer, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

James 5:16-18: “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. [17] Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. [18] And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.  1 Chronicles 4:10  And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
