The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen (2 Corinthians 13:14).
One of the ways to develop an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit is through fellowship with Him. Usually, if you don’t talk with a person, your relationship with that person cannot be built even if you know that person. No matter how close you are, without continually exchanging thoughts and ideas, your relationship cannot grow. Every relationship without communication wanes, be it a relationship between parents and children, spouses, friends, colleagues, co-workers, or even your relationship with God.
Good communication helps or enhances relationships. So if you’re going to have a richer fellowship or a better relationship with the Holy Spirit, you’re going to have to communicate with Him often. Learn to talk to the Holy Spirit in prayer; He is a person, so you’ve got to relate with Him and talk to Him like one. The Benediction in 2 Corinthians 13:14, which we usually say at the close of a meeting, is an indication of the kind of relationship or intimacy we’re supposed to have with the Holy Spirit. The Grace is supplied by Jesus, God is the one who supplies all the love but fellowship is with the Holy Spirit.
The Father is in heaven; Jesus has gone to heaven; but the Holy Spirit is here with us. The God we know and relate with today is the Holy Spirit; He is the One here with us in the earth. He is the One that makes the presence of the Father and Jesus real to us. Therefore, learn to talk to Him by speaking in tongues more often.
This enhances your relationship with the Holy Ghost. Speak in other tongues every day. Don’t let it be an occasional exercise to be embarked upon only when you feel high spiritually. Rather, make it a conscious daily activity and your relationship with the Holy Spirit will soar higher as you do this.
Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the great honour and privilege of fellowshipping with you through the Holy Ghost. As I continue in this fellowship, my relationship and intimacy with your Spirit takes me to greater heights of grace and favour and causes me to excel in all I do in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
