“Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen” (Revelation 1:5-6).
Once it dawns on your spirit that as a child of God you’re a king and not a helpless, needy pauper it will completely change the way you live. It reminds me of what the Bible says about David, that it dawned on him that the Lord had established him King over Israel (2 Samuel 5:12). But he had been king all the while, how come the realization didn’t dawn on him up until then?
So, it’s got to dawn on you today that God has made you a king. You ought to live everyday with a kingly consciousness. First, as a king, you must get rid of all beggarly prayers; pray as the king that you are—kings don’t beg—they make decrees. That means your prayer-life should be full of worship, praise, intercession and declarations of faith. You have to learn to give instructions to your angels to move on your behalf, and exercise authority and dominion over the devil and the negative forces of life when you pray.
Secondly, learn to walk as a king; don’t walk in a slouching manner, with your shoulders down, head bent, foot-dragging like a defeated person. Hold your head up high; square your shoulders and walk with dignity. Also, learn to dress as a king. Even if all you had were just two shirts, keep them clean, iron them neatly; comb your hair, polish your shoes and look neat. Always wear the appearance of the king that you are.
Finally, talk as a king! Kings know that their words aren’t empty and so they mind what they say. Your words are backed with power; they contain inherent dynamic ability to change any negative situation and put the devil to flight. Therefore be bold to speak in line with God’s Word. Be bold to make decrees, because whatever you decree shall be established unto you.
Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making me a king and teaching me to live as one. I go about my endeavours today with the consciousness of my kingly status. When I speak, I effect changes in the realm of the spirit and I arrange circumstances and situations aright. By the power of your Spirit that’s at work in me, I’m reigning and exercising dominion in this life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
