“Jesus answered and said, if any man loves me, he would keep my word, and my Father will love him and we will come unto him and make our home with him”[John 14:23].
The Bible lets us know that the way to prove your love for the Lord is by keeping His Word: “If ye love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15). In other words, the proof of your love for Jesus is acting His Word. God already proved His love for us when He sent His Son—Jesus to die on the cross for us; so what are you going to do to prove to God that you love Him?
Jesus said, “if any man loves me, he would keep my word, and my Father will love him and we will come unto him and make our home with him,” meaning that when you prove your love for the Master by keeping His Word, you’d have an ever-growing relationship with your heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
No wonder Jesus said, “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him” (John 14:21). He can’t manifest Himself in you, until you study, do, and live by His Word, only then can He reside in your mind, and give you the thoughts of God and show Himself alive in you, giving you everything you need.
Prove your love for the Lord today; He is the most important Personality that there is, and the only One that loves you in totality. People may love you, but detest some things in your character; they may like your eyes but express disdain about your nose. They may like your kindness but disdain your temper. But you see, God is the only One who can fully love you, in spite of any wrong doing. So, prove your love for Him today!
Confession
I thank you heavenly Father for your unconditional love for me. I prove my love for you today, by doing your word and walking in your love which has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I’m not selfish in the way I express my love, neither do I rely on emotions to love, my love for you and for those around me is in response and appreciation of the great love with which you’ve loved me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
